Drone Crash & Vatican
Day two began with a drone crash unfortunately, but by the end of the day a new drone was in place and we’ve gotten some useful footage.
We learned how to use the metro system late morning and took the subway to Vatican City. We toured the Vatican museum, Sistine chapel, St Peters Basilica, the crypt area under St Peters and we hiked up to the top of the dome at St Peters - our legs are still shaking!! Everything is massive in scale and just as breathtaking as imagined!
Our walk back to the hotel from Vatican City took us through the heart of Ancient Rome: the Pantheon, Piazza Navona with its incredible fountains, Castel Sant’Angelo and the bridge of Angels, and several incredibly beautiful churches. There are still some Christmas lights at the outdoor cafes.
We are already regulars at the little sidewalk cafe beneath our hotel- ended the day there with a fabulous pasta dinner.
