Hip Surgeries
I am recovering from both my right hip replacement (July 26th) and my left hip replacement (Oct. 4th). Looks like arthritis and possibly all the marathons when I was younger weighed a lot less and was foolish took their toll.
Besides being bored to death I am doing kind of well. Some days of pain and discomfort and others where I feel good enough that I “over do” and pay the next day. I have not flown the drone and my bedroom walls are creeping in. My bed does have a nice hospital feature so I can ice and elevate.
I have funny stories (depending on your perspective) about how they want you to just use Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain relief now due to the opioid crisis. I get it. But they did cut bone out of my body and pound metal parts in. After surgery they gave me a “spearmint inhaler” that I guess “many people find relief with” (picture below). I thought they were joking but no!! Margery could see that I was about to say something a pastor shouldn’t say and redirected the conversation.
I am very much looking forward to getting out and flying soon. Really I am just looking forward to just getting out of the house for longer than couple of hours.
I have been posting a lot while recovering and many posts I have added here as “a closer look.” I have a ton of pictures from all of the biblical sites I have travel to over the years.
I have also been studying for Turkey Trip May 2023 (with drone footage mission on Greek and Turkish Islands afterward). We are also planning our Israel trip in Sept or Oct of 2023. We will definitely bring the drone to that as well, although all of Jerusalem is essentially a no fly zone.
