Storm on Sea of Galilee

Sea of Galilee Storm. After spending a beautiful day on the Sea of Galilee the weather quickly turned from calm and beautiful to a storm. Due to its low-lying position, surrounded by hills, the sea is prone to sudden violent storms; hence the New Testament story about Jesus calming the storm. According to Mark 4:35-41 one evening Jesus and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee in a boat. Suddenly a furious storm came up, with the waves breaking over the boat so that it was nearly swamped. We experienced it!
