Shore Line Capernaum

There is archaeological evidence of Capernaum from the 2nd century BC to the 7th century AD. Capernaum is situated along the Sea of Galilee.

Jesus made Capernaum his base of operation during the years of his public ministry: “Leaving Nazareth He went and lived in Capernaum” (Matt 4:13). Peter, Andrew, James, and John lived in the village. Matthew the tax collector was also from Capernaum.

The day we visited it was overcast and there were a lot of waves. But it was amazing to stand near the site of Peter’s house and the synagogue on the shore line.
